In his first year as a senior and his debut over 20k distance, Alex Wright had the challenge of lining up against the Italian Olympic 50k Champion Alex Schwazer.  The Belgravian led the Brits through halfway in 43:51 and stayed with a sub-89 minute pace until 15k but thereafter the warm conditions affected the UK competitors and they slipped behind the Commonwealth Games qualifying standard.
