Bristol Half Marathon inc. ERRA and UKA Championships - 9 September 2007 

Above left. Deciding to run only the day before, Mark Miles (20) closed in the scoring three for a winning Belgrave team in the UKA/ERRA championship. On the way back from the loop up the Avon Gorge around the 6 mile mark, he is shadowed by Huw Lobb (50 Bedford & County) and Gareth Raven (22 Sale Harriers). Above right. Not quite two miles into the race and Will Cockerell (29) locks horns with Matthew Blunden of Notts AC.  The Bels beat Notts in the Championship race but at four to score in the open event we believe that they got the better of us.

Above. In full flight at the six mile point, Phil Wicks (25) was nevertheless joined by Billy Farquharson of Notts AC  Phil didn't shake him off for another four miles.

Above. Dave Mitchinson (40 Newham & Essex Beagles) slugs it out with Simon Jones (12) near the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Si eventually got the better of Mitch and took half a minute off his previous best time.

Left. The medals came by the kilo for Phil Wicks - all gold - UKA champion, English champion, UKA team, English team. But as shown above left, he came under pressure from Winchester's Toby Lambert towards the end. Above right. Skipper Will Cockerell was sweeping up for the Belgrave team in 29th place
