SEAA 6-Stage Road Relay, 2008

September 27, and in warm sunshine Knut Hegvold (A15) and Nick Goolab (A14) get our two teams under way. Nick started steadily but brought the A team home to an excellent 3rd place after stage one behind Neilson Hall (Bedford A11) and Neil Renault (Medway A68).

On the second stage Shaun Moralee (B14) faces an onslaught from Keith Gerrard (Newham & Essex Beagles B72) and Mitch Goose (City of Norwich B30) while Will Cockerell (B15) brings the Bs up to 21st.

Graeme Hyett (C14) takes the A team to the halfway point in 7th place while Hassan Raidi (C15) takes the Bs up to 16th.

An outstanding run from Dan Mulhare (D14) took him to a clocking of 17:58 for fourth fastest of the day; the Belgrave A team were now up to 2nd.  It's the battle of the B teams as Malachi Byansi (D15) dices with Bedford's Alex Bellew (D13).  Dan Pettit (Newham & Essex Beagles E72) caught our Captain Stephen Sharp (E14) but Stephen regained the advantage and more by the end of the 5th stage.

Pete Willis (E15) was on his toes to give the B team's last man every chance of hanging on to a place in the top 25. Meanwhile Phil Wicks (H14) was taking the Belgrave colours to the front to clinch a sixth victory in seven years.  And the Bs did all that was asked of them with Mark Humphrey (H15) anchoring the team to 22nd place.

Nick Goolab, Stephen Sharp, Phil Wicks and Shaun Moralee collect the "Ian Logan Cup".
