AAA 10k Road Race 2004 - Bishop Auckland - 15 August 2004 


Top: Soon after the start and the Belgrave team are prominent - Mark Thompson (6), Paul Freary (8), David Anderson in a NE Counties vest (89), Kassa Tadessa in the yellow vest of Surrey (75) and Mark Miles behind Kassa's left shoulder. Past winner Julius Kimtai (KEN/Tipton) wears 1; Stephen Hepples (Newham &EB) wears 90 - he helped NE Counties to the silver medals; 32 is Kipkemoi Katui (KEN); the eventual winner, 19 year-old Ernest Kimeli (KEN) is in the red vest wearing 4. On the extreme right is Aussie Mark Tucker (3); behind Kassa, wearing blue, is Glyn Tromans (Coventry) the eventual AAA individual winner and behind David Anderson in black is Natalie Harvey (South London), the outstanding winner of the women's race.

Above left: Heading towards the end of the first lap and the Kenyans are making the running along with Tesfaye Eticha (2) who lives in Switzerland and stayed with the Belgrave party for the weekend. Matt Smith (7) of Tipton is prominent alongside Glyn Tromans, while further back Kassa is chased by Mark Miles and Mark Thompson, running stride for stride.
