An exceptional talent as a schoolboy, Graham won every 200 metre race available to him in English Schools Championship competition between the years of 1992 to 1996; and representing England at the World Schools Championships of 1994 in Nicosia, Cyprus he came home with a coveted gold medal. At Brunel University, Graham obtained a Bsc Honours degree in Sports Science but while his studies went well, he found that he lost his way when it came to life on the track.  Minor injuries, illness and the lack of a guiding hand plagued him and the young sprinter began to feel that he was, perhaps, becoming a forgotten man of athletics.

In 2000 a chance meeting with Julian Golding prompted Graham into a change of direction and before long he had joined Mike McFarlane’s training squad. Practice drills alongside Golding, Jarrett and Chambers soon paid dividends and in 2001 his sprint times began to drop again.

2002 has been Graham’s best year ever with an unbeaten record in BAL 200s, selection for the sprint relay squad at the Commonwealth Games (although he didn’t get a run) and personal records set in 100, 200 and an eye-opening 400 metre split of 46.8 on the last leg of the long relay at the Golden Jubilee Cup Final.  Graham is thoroughly pleased to have joined Belgrave and sends his thanks to the team managers, supporters and of course, Sir Eddie.
