Tony Ganio

A Belgravian since 1991, Tony has held a variety of roles at the club and has been instrumental in advising, coaching and providing sports therapy to our athletes and teams over the years. For 30 years Tony’s presence has been constant, and his input to committee meetings and expertise in keeping an eye on our gymnasium and Belgrave Hall has been invaluable. Tony was elected a Life Member in 2019 and it is only fitting that he is now our Club President for 2023/24.

General secretary

Phil Wicks

Phil is a life member and one of our most successful distance runners of all time. Taking over as general secretary in September 2022, he is a senior leader on committee and is responsible for the continued monitoring and management of all Coaches, Officials and Athletes within the parameters set out by England Athletics. The General Secretary also compiles and organises Committee Meetings and the club’s Annual General Meeting.

John Gladwin

A Commonwealth Games silver medalist, John still holds every senior men’s club record from the 800m to the mile. After retiring from competition in the early 90s, John continued to work in athletics now runs his own sports marketing company. He has only ever been a Belgrave member and took on the role of chairperson after serving as club President from 2019-2021.

Membership Secretary

Alan Mead

Alan has a long history with Belgrave, serving as club president in 1993/94, general secretary 2011-2015 and was one of the club’s most successful team managers of all time. He brings his considerable experience to membership secretary where he has responsibility to ensure our affiliations are up to date and members are kept informed of club goings on.
