NAL promotion secured with big team performance at Yate

Belgrave secured promotion to the British Athletics League Championship division next season with a big team performance at Yate.

At the time of writing, ‘promotion secured’ is all we know for sure after some administrative confusion on the ground. The NAL website and app has us winning the meet nearly some 27 points clear of Yeovil in second; the stadium announcer reckoned we finished the day in third overall. We think it could be that Belgrave won the athletics competition but slipped to third once points were added for number of officials supplied.

While these hiccups are something that must be improved for next year (what other sporting event would you leave not knowing the outcome?) we can be sure that Belgravians put on some brilliant, committed performances and enjoyed a fantastic team atmosphere in the westcountry.
