Belgrave medal haul at county track championships

Belgrave had a storming weekend of medal winning over a weekend of county track championships.

Sprints

We had podium finishes in the Surrey counties for sprints with Sam Ige (silver in the 200m), Andy Gibb (bronze in 400m) and Rachel Donnison (400m silver). Sam Ige also came fifth in a very high quality 100m final.

Michael Measter became 100m county champion in Kent on the Saturday and then again Lincolnshire on the Sunday.

Kareem Selman-Jackson won the Middlesex 400m, smashing his PB to run it in 48.8s.

Jess Lee won silver in the women's long jump - the only field eventer to medal for Belgrave. Emma Watkins and Sophie Burn also jumped; Sophie threw the javelin too.

Middle distance

We had podium finishes for Rob Kelly and Tommy Taylor (silver and bronze respectively in the 5000m). Steph Hewitt and Lizzie Goldie-Scot stormed it for the women: Steph won gold in both the 1500m and 3000m and Lizzie won silver and bronze in those events respectively. Ewan Somerville also won silver in the 1500m. Angus Lamb managed a PB in the 5000m.

Our juniors also had a good day. Oscar Kinirons came 3rd in the 1500m. Massive PBs also for Seb Cockerell in the 1500m and Alexis Delaney in the 800m.

Walks

Maureen Noel won gold in the 3k racewalk at the Middlesex Champs (at 58 years of age!) in a time of 18:30.0.
