Belgrave's Sam Amend breaks British 100-mile record
Belgrave's Sam Amend broke the British 100-mile record with a time of 14:34:03 at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford, Kent.
The Centurion event also saw a new men’s world best set by Aleksandr Sorokin of Lithuania.
Sam was nearly ten minutes inside the previous record of 14:43:40 set by Eleanor Robinson in 1990, and more than 20 minutes quicker than her own previous best of 14:54:12.
Our women’s road and cross country captain, Sammi is now into her 11th year as a Belle and her record will be celebrated by all at the club.
