Maureen Noel takes bronze at European Masters; Colin Harle wins Enfield league
Maureen Noel, a Belgrave Life Member, headed off in October to the Portuguese island of Madeira to compete in the European Masters track & field championships.
Maureen contested the W60 age-group 10k and 20k race walks and gave her growing tally of international Masters' medals a boost with individual bronze medals in both events. As a bonus, she was in the GB team that achieved the silver medals in the 20k.
In November Maureen demonstrated her versatility by contesting the British Masters' road 5k run in Battersea Park. She placed a creditable 7th in a race won by multi World record holder and gold medalist Clare Elms.
Another Belgrave "Master" race walker, Colin Harle (M65), also achieved some success but with his feet firmly in England. He placed 2nd in the British Police 10k road walk in Evesham in September and has since sealed victory in the Enfield Race Walking League. That's contested over nine events across the year.
