South of the Thames 5 miles Team Race, Lloyd Park

We're beginning to get a nice little bunch of local runners together and when they meet up at a race the prizes are not far away. Mike Trees, Mal Byansi and Tim Weeks battled it out to close in the A team and their rivalry ensured that our fourth (and last) scoring man was ahead of Epsom's, thus earning a set of bronze medals. Tim got shunted out of the four but led home our B team ... where Don Anderson's spirited finish to close in that quartet resulted in the Bels pipping Epsom again at eight to score.

Pete Willis is slowly getting back to form and gave the team a boost by placing 10th (scoring 9th) but for Phil Wicks it was a training run although he had some surprising company in the shape of Newham & Essex Beagle Mark Warmby in a Herne Hill vest for the first lap.
