Women's Surrey Cross Country League, Ham Lands near Kingston
Super Sarah
Sarah Gailey has been troubled by various injuries since her teenage years but now doing pure running training only twice a week - and mixing it with triathlon workouts - she is injury free and celebrated with a surprising 6th place. The muddy conditions were hardly Samantha Amend's bag but she too was well up the field and with Tilly, Rieko and Rosie completing the squad we placed 12th on the day and moved up a slot in the league.
It's all down to that final match now as we are still, just, in the relegation zone. We need to pull back 90 points on Epsom & Ewell on the Common on 12 February. It can be done, for here at Ham we had the better of them by 129. If we can do it again we'll leapfrog over several of the teams ahead.
