Cornettos all round beat the Cambridge blues

Match four was in far flung Cambridge and another small team meant that far from challenging for a top slot in the division in 2011, with one match to go we are not so far away from the relegation zone. There was plenty of fun though as we started the track events with a win - thanks to Steven Lamb - and finished with ice creams all round thanks to the Team Manager.

As a junior the aforementioned Steven was once third best 400 metre hurdler in the country, clocking times in the 53-54 second region. Ok that was 1994, but dipping his toes into the world of one lap hurdling again it surely will not be too long before he can claim a sub-60 once more.

Paul Graham was amazed by his 11.2 pb in the 100 metres and Peter Bammodu looked good too as our young sprinters shared out the events and even stretched to a 400 metres and in Pierre Walker's case a 1500m, although we suspect it will be a long time before Pierre tries another one.

It was good to have big Roy Collier and Chris Privett in action in the throws while Pete Willis covered a 5k, a 1500 metres and a leg in the long relay. Dave Wellstead came along for moral support and a non-scoring triple jump (he was ruled out of scoring by his appearance in the last BAL team).
